As part of our Speaker’s Bureau program, our staff have lectured at several colleges with banking programs, including Texas Tech University. We are a founding partner of the Excellence in Banking program at Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business, contributing to their educational initiatives and providing industry insights. Additionally, we have donated $100,000 to establish scholarships for students attending universities with commercial banking programs. We provided an additional $100,000 each to Texas A&M and Texas Tech University, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to supporting higher education and fostering the next generation of banking professionals. |
In 2019, we initiated a meaningful partnership with Paul Quinn College, a private, faith-based, historically Black college in Dallas, Texas. This collaboration offers internship opportunities to students, helping them offset the cost of their college tuition and housing. Each academic year, we take in two interns from Paul Quinn College. Our Human Resources team mentors them and prepares them to work closely with the other bank departments to execute projects that positively impact not just the bank but also their resumes. Given the success of our partnership in recent years, we deepened our commitment to supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), incorporating recruitment goals for HBCU interns into our incentive compensation programs. |
Bank executives, including members of the leadership team, have actively participated in Prairie View A&M University College of Business’ PV Summer Banking Academy (PVSBA). The three-week program allows students to secure course credit and a certification at the end of the program. Our executives have spoken on various topics like credit analysis, collateral and mortgage lending – all central to building a successful career in banking and financial services. The director of Collateral Services also sits on the board of the PVSBA. Besides these initiatives, we regularly participate in the University’s banking week to meet with students and inform them of a prospective career at FHLB Dallas. |
FHLB Dallas has a longstanding association with the University of New Mexico that comprises of classroom visits and participation in career fairs each semester. FHLB Dallas has also committed to donating a total of $15,000 to the UNM Anderson School of Management over a three-year period. | |

"It's just been a phenomenal experience from the get-go. I have autonomy and I get to plan events. That’s what has made this so valuable. I have real world work experience to put on my resume and experiences that I can tell interviewers about."
"It was an enriching experience. The mentoring and training was phenomenal, but probably the most important part was the emotional support, the friendship, the encouragement. Everyone was so supportive — and it's not just women supporting women. I felt just as much encouragement from the men."
